Block Google from your feed

If you worry about Google's page rank of your blog, I recommend telling Google not to index the static page of your blog where you have pasted your first-post-first blog feed.

This isn't critical, but it is possible that Google could penalize your blog for having duplicate content.

You can avoid this by adding the url for your static page to the robot.txt file for your blog. This is a tiny file that helps Google to index your blog so that people can find your blog in searches.

The easiest way to interact with robot.txt is though Google's Webmaster Tools, yet another free service that you can link to your Google account.

I am not going to walk you through how to do this because Google does a very good job of that in its own tutorial.

If it's all too much for you or you don't care, though, don't worry. It isn't critical.
